Here is a video recording of my groups presentation on the music video sex on fire by kings of leon.

For our music video analysis the aspects which I will concentrate on will be mise-en-scene and camera and angles, the mise-en-scene includes lighting, props and colour. To do this I will be watching the sex on fire video a number of times and making notes on what I see, when I watch the video I will concentrate entirely on 1 aspect at a time so I cover everything I can on the certain area. I will watch the video without sound as I do not have to write about the lyrics and music it is also so I do not get sidetracked by just listening to the music.

Music video analysis

In groups we have been given the task of creating a PowerPoint presentation on a music video, the music video my group is creating the PowerPoint on is the Kings of Leon song 'sex on fire'.

To analyse the video we have each chosen to create slides on certain elements of the video before combining them together to create the final presentation, to analyse the video we will take into account the aspects of the music and genre, how the music and video link together, the lyrics of the song, mise-en-scene, camera and angles, editing and narrative and themes.

Music tribes and culture

Over the next few lessons I will be researching and publishing information about music tribes and the culture associated with them, to do this I will be using existing information from my AS blog http://sam-holytrc.blogspot.com/ along with any new information I find while searching.
